This was the worst hospital I've ever been to when Dr Wilson left everything went down hill
The staff used to just sit there and watch me split my head open when they should have supported me
They kept me in there but my dad and mum fought for me to get out
Well if you read this I wouldn't recommend this hospital for anyone

My partner of 25 years has had psychosis for the last 9 weeks she's been through hell in there I'm her next of kin and our eldest son is her nearest blood relative but her mother who's worked in a hospital for years and knows how the system works and she doesnt even bother with her daughter normal but because it's in the public eye she's getting involved and trying to use the place as a drug rehabilitation unit as well. She went in with psychosis from crack cocaine and they are trying to rip her of methadone which gave her psychosis in 2018 so I've had to really fight for her rights and have struggled the staff are un helpful and will keep your loved one as long as possible because its a business and its run as one. Not always with the patients best interests at heart. My parents is a lot better now but will need to be moved back near home so her kids and me can go see her every day so her mental health will improve but they put stipulations on everything what a nightmare from beginning to end absolutely unreal you don't want your loved one in hear its more like a prison for the insane its nearly unhuman

Didn’t help me at all in there. 13 months after I was discharged I was back in prison for arson, I got 2 years and now in Meadowbrook unit and been here 7 months and the staff here have helped me way more and I will be getting my own place soon with my kitten

My daughter has been there coming up to 2 years and is content and well looked after. She’s progressing well after some tough times in other units. The staff are all very friendly and actually appear to interact well with her which isn’t the case everywhere. There’s a frustrating lack of information transfer and we’ve yet to meet a doctor or psychologist. Covid hasn’t helped that obviously so I’m not overly concerned given the complexities of visiting a secure unit with covid protocols. I have to say I don’t recognise the place from the other reviews and can only give an honest opinion of our interactions there. I think it’s a good place with nice staff.

Staff are very rude and neglectful as well as negligent. Dr's are worse. Hospital Manger is a disgrace. They will keep your family member or loved one, isolated and locked up in awful conditions for years, even if they are heavily pregnant. And they will get no better. Just worse.

It was hell on earth. The only thing I learnt is how to play the system to get out I was lucky I got out, others are in there for years. I would rather be in prison for a year than a few months in there again. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Your treated worse than animals.

I have put 3 stars as not worked there, however someone says staff are rude to visitors, have those visitors ever worked in a psych unit, whilst not too Pysical it requires great attention and knowing what to be aware of, I am looking at maybe working some shifts there. STILL WAITING FOR HELP WITH SHIFTS NONE TO DATE?

Staff are very rude to visitors. I went to visit my daughter who is a patient the room we was sat in was very dirty dry blood on the sofa. felt alot like prison rather than a hospital.
